Welcome to New Work
Some time ago we were invited by our exclusive partner stücker Büroeinrichtungs GmbH to an expert talk with Steelcase about the working worlds of tomorrow. This took place yesterday in the new Hartung GmbH & Co KG office building in Neumünster.
After an inspiring talk, we were shown around the new Hartung Office. We are very pleased to complete the new spaces with our room acoustic measures.
What does this mean in the context of New Work?
The understanding of work is undergoing a fundamental change: the classic career has had its day, and the question of meaning is increasingly coming to the fore.
New work structures are blurring the boundaries between life and work in favor of dynamic and polytropic corporate cultures. The standard of office space is changing from a pure place of work to the company’s cultural mile.
New Work combines any new forms of work (flexitime, remote work, home office, desk sharing, coworking, agile teams …). At the same time, the work environments are as individual and versatile to adapt as the respective company itself.
At the same time, room acoustic requirements are increasing immensely. For example, an acoustic concept that is aligned with the space plan is precisely the key to a well-functioning New Work space.
The trend away from a fixed workplace to many different agile work locations requires a restructuring of the company as well as the work locations.
We will soon tell you how to successfully approach this restructuring in our new project story.

In interaction with room acoustics, it significantly influences us in our everyday life and at the workplace. Both play an important role in the design of a room. SCHULBAU Fair 2022
SCHULBAU – International Salon and Fair for Educational Construction is the trade fair throughout Europe that deals with the concrete investment volume for schools, daycare centers and campuses.
It takes place on 23. and 24. November at the Loewe Saal in Berlin and we will be there! Look forward to many product innovations and a high-quality program, including delicious snacks and great trade fair gifts.
The education sector is an integral part of our fleet. Thanks to our expertise through countless successful projects, we have developed acoustic products that are specifically tailored to the educational sector.

Full speed ahead into the future!
Exactly one year ago our Ideenwerft started to redesign our web presence.
So it was time to set sail, weigh anchor and look to new shores. Because “only those who know where they want to sail set the sails correctly.” (Jürg Meier)
No sooner said than done. Many ideas, even more ideas, work and time went into creating the prototype to the finished website. And today we can announce full of joy and with a proud chest: It is done – our new website is online!

From the Baltic Sea to the stars, our award-winning innovative acoustic design luminaires apn® Lux Flunder and apn® Lux Flunder Wall illuminate the halls of STATION-Berlin! Our crew can’t wait to introduce them during a no-obligation chat at booth #73.

Hearing is a subjective perception and more than just sound and vibrations
Thanks to our ears, it is possible for us to hear binaurally. When the sound effect is disturbed, we feel uncomfortable or overwhelmed. In rooms with many smooth surfaces, it quickly happens that the reverberation time skyrockets and speech intelligibility decreases. It is therefore all the more important to balance these aspects and thus significantly increase the sense of well-being in the room.
The ceiling is an important absorption surface for balanced basic acoustic attenuation. Our acoustic ceiling sails apn® Vinta Base score with highest absorption performances and work excellently in optimizing room acoustics. Since this project involves courtrooms of a district court, deliberate attention was paid to a simple and unobtrusive ceiling design. Complementary to the ceiling system, the acoustic wall absorbers of the apn® Forma FH series have an enormous absorption effect and set colorful and haptic feel-good accents in the room. A combination of geometric surfaces with three different depths gives the absorbers a three-dimensionality. Moreover, in addition to the senses of hearing and sight – thanks to the finishing with fabrics from the apn® Classic Soul fabric collection – touch is included. By means of the recurring design of the wall absorbers in different colors, conceptual attention was also paid to a high recognition value. The recycled Schleswig-Holstein coats of arms, which are incorporated into the design, are the icing on the cake.
Through the interplay of function and design, we were thus able to fulfill more than just the calculated and measurable reduction in reverberation time.
