apn® Always up to date
What a success!
Already in 2020 apn® was registered as a trademark. Recently, our apn Lamella is now also allowed to wear a fancy “®”. Because our apn Lamella® has been entered in the register by the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) as a Union trademark!
The apn Lamella® acoustic baffles are particularly suitable for large rooms and office spaces. They act as a breakwater, thus reducing sound propagation and preventing sound reflection from the ceiling. Thus, the basic damping of the room is optimized by the outstanding acoustic properties. In particular, our baffles are excellent for concrete core activated ceilings, as the air can continue to circulate undisturbed. So much for the technical properties.
Our acoustic baffles also look great: whether color-laminated, classic white, straight-lined, wave-shaped or free-form. Our apn Lamella® impresses with its diverse design possibilities as well as its acoustic high performance!
Individual acoustic solutions down to the smallest detail
One of our latest projects is this 240 sqm coworking space at TH Wildau. Measure the drill holes with a laser measuring device, mark them, drill the holes, insert the dowels, attach the wire ropes and the baffle elements and adjust them. That, in a nutshell, is the standard process our installation crew uses to mount our apn® Lamella acoustic baffles to the ceiling.
The client’s wish was not only to significantly reduce the hall’s reverberation time, but also to create a shade underneath the atrium with the acoustic solution. Due to the existing steel construction and the wishes of the clientele, a new fastening option for our apn® Lamella was sought for this project.
Where locomotives were once manufactured, our acoustic baffles now hang neatly from the steel girders with the help of girder clamps. The mounting system also proved to be an uncomplicated and quick installation solution. In no time at all, a baffle ceiling was created that blends seamlessly with the supporting structure to create a modern overall appearance.
A big thank you to our installation crew who made this happen at about 6 meters with their know-how and experience. Once again we could rely on the expertise and experience of our team – where would we be without you?!
International Noise Awareness Day 2023 – Turn it down
What is noise? How does it occur and how can noise be prevented? Even our little ones are moved by this topic. In the course of their project day two weeks ago, the schoolchildren from the “Am Kaiserholz” kindergarden in Neustadt visited our shipyard.
After the children made themselves comfortable on our apn® Cube seating cubes in the captain’s lounge, our guests pricked up their little ears and listened attentively to our captain. First came a short “theory unit”: playfully and child-friendly with visual plus auditory examples, our captain took the children on an exciting journey into the world of acoustics.
He illustrated what noise is and what sound waves have to do with the creation of noise. Also why it is so important that we as a company have taken on this problem and how many people as well as departments are needed to manufacture and market the room acoustics solutions. Afterwards, everyone went on a discovery tour through our production halls and offices. There was plenty to marvel at, touch and try out.
The highlight was the final try and craft activity. Among other things, the children were able to try out and experience the effect of sound waves with can telephones. It was sanded, painted and glued with fabric scraps from our upholstery. At the end, every child had their own individual wooden school cone as a souvenir in their hands.
An exciting, informative and fun morning for all came to an end. We are already looking forward to a repeat!

After our apn® Gig XL snagged the #10 spot on OFFICE ROXX’s Top 100 Office Solutions 2023 last week, we can finally announce our Acoustic Screen upgrade. Behind closed hatches, people had been discussing and whispering for some time: it sounded as if the “Klabautermänner” were singing shantys.
So we crossed the Baltic Sea and brought in a new fabric for our apn® Gig XL. This shines in Scandinavian, simple colors and the graphic weave pattern of two different yarn colors looks like a modern fine grid structure. The result is an even more refined office accessory.

We sail to Hamburg …
Our acoustician, together with our project developer, is sailing to Hamburg for apn at DAGA 2023.
The 49th Annual Meeting on Acoustics will take place from 06. to 09 March at the CCH – Congress Center Hamburg. Hundreds of expert presentations from the colorful world of acoustics are already waiting to be heard.
From Tuesday, March 7, the foyer of the Congress Center will be transformed into an exhibition area and we – as a genuine North German room acoustics manufacturer – will of course be part of the party:
